The Writers' Prayer

I pray that I’ll always have purpose
be it to entertain
be it to inform
be it to inspire
I pray I’ll always have purpose

I pray that one day I’ll never have to choose
between my craft and my livelihood

I pray that that my words will never echo false in the hearts of men
I pray that my craft will resonate within the soul of my readers

I pray, like the great writers before me,
that my craft will still be heard and seen
long after I am dead
